We are a biomedical research group in the Pediatric Diabetes Research Center and the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla CA. We are also members of the UCSD Bioinformatics and Systems Biology program, Biomedical Sciences program, Institute for Diabetes and Metabolic Health, and Clinical and Translational Research Institute.
Our group studies the genetic basis and molecular mechanisms of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, diseases that affect over 400 million individuals worldwide.
We use computational and molecular genetics and epigenomics to address contemporary questions about human genetic variation and its effect on genome function and diabetes risk. A primary interest is understanding relationships between diabetes-associated variation, transcription factor binding, chromatin accessibility and organization, and gene regulation.
We are actively looking for technicians, postdoctoral researchers and students. See the ‘Positions’ page for more information.
